Helping you with transport in Inverness Since 2001 our transport service has been providing reliable, door to door, non-emergency transport to anyone registered with a GP in Inverness who find it difficult to access community health and social care facilities. Many people struggle to get to their health and social care appointments for a variety of reasons. Access to public transport is limited It might be physically difficult to get on and off buses or walk to a bus stop Family and/or neighbours may not always be available to provide lifts Our transport service provides a value for money way to help you get to health and social care appointments across Inverness between 9.00am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday each week. All of our drivers are locally recruited volunteers - they drive our own two easy access vehicles or the minibus we use on two days each week. Some of our volunteers use their own vehicles. Fares are a flat rate: Single journey = £5 Return journey = £8 The income generated from the fares is fully reinvested in the service to help cover costs. In addition to fare income we also need to find funding from other sources to help us develop and maintain the service the service - we are extremely grateful to our funders past and present who have supported the service since 2004 when the charity started. We would like to thank Highland Council for their Community Transport Grant, without which the service would not operate as well as it does.
